Stair Runner Landings: Custom & Standard Sizing

At Direct Carpet, we don’t just send you a piece of carpet; we provide a precision-cut landing designed to match your runner’s pattern perfectly. Whether you have a simple turn or a complex U-shaped staircase, getting the right amount of material is the difference between a pro job and a waste of money.

1. Choose Your Landing Type & Size

Standard L-Shaped Landing (Left or Right Turn)

  • What’s Included: A precision-cut 4 ft x 4 ft piece of your chosen runner material.

  • Best For: Most standard 90-degree turns where the landing is no wider than 48 inches.

Standard U-Shaped Landing (The 180-Degree Turn)

  • What’s Included: A single continuous piece up to 80 inches long and 4 feet wide.

  • Best For: Mid-stairway landings that connect two flights of stairs.

⚠️ 2. IS YOUR LANDING OVERSIZED? (READ CAREFULLY)

Lately, we’ve seen a lot of "monster" landings that exceed standard roll widths. To protect the quality of the install and cover the extra material costs, any landing exceeding the dimensions above must select the Oversized Surcharge.

Oversized Landing Surcharge: $69.00

  • Apply this if: Your landing is wider than 48 inches (4 ft) or your U-shape length is over 80 inches.

  • Why the charge? Carpet rolls come in set widths. Once you go over 4 feet, we often have to pull from a much larger roll or use specialized cuts to ensure your pattern (like Herringbone) stays perfectly straight.

Keith’s Pro Tip: "Don't guess on this. Grab your tape measure. If that landing is 49 inches, it's oversized. It's better to pay the surcharge now than to have me call you for more money later because the material won't cover your floor."
